Matthews, Indiana

There is an interesting business in Matthews, that of selling old trucks. Some are restored, and some are sold as is. I don't know the owner, but I met him in September of 2010, during the annual Bridge Festival and area yard sale.

I had noticed a bunch of old trucks there a couple years before, and made several pictures. That day in September 2011 I saw different trucks, and made more pictures. That time, I ventured inside and briefly met with the owner. I didn't get his name, but did get permission to look around and make pictures inside.

This is the only place I know of that specializes in old trucks. I saw a chassis set up on supports, and it was painted. I saw a bunch of cabs in a row on the floor and more up on another level. There were various trucks of different vintages, in different states of condition. Some were as brought in, and some were restored. The owner said most come from drier, western states. That can be seen on some of the old license plates.

Old trucks are interesting to me, and no doubt to a lot of other people. So I thought I'd post some pictures of these trucks. I don't have any connection with this business owner, but his old trucks are kind of neat, and I wanted to show them to other people who like old trucks. Some of those I photographed last September might be gone now. Those I photographed in 2008 are already gone, but I want to put some of those pictures on here anyway, just to show old truck pictures.
